FAQ

Common questions about access, checkout, lists, and shipping.

What is The Peptide Clinic?

The Peptide Clinic is a members-only research supply platform based in South Africa. We source, curate, and distribute research-grade peptides and related compounds exclusively to verified researchers and laboratory professionals. Our catalog includes peptide hormones, regenerative compounds, and metabolic research agents. All products are supplied strictly for in-vitro laboratory and analytical research purposes under South African law. No compound on this platform is approved, licensed, or intended for human or veterinary use.

Why is the catalog gated?

The product catalog is gated to ensure responsible distribution of research-grade compounds. Product listings, pricing, media, checkout, and reviews remain hidden until a member completes the full approval process: account creation, email verification, legal document acceptance, and manual admin review. This deliberate design decision means every approved member is identified, verified, and has explicitly acknowledged the research-only terms before gaining any catalog access. The gate prevents anonymous or undocumented purchases.

How do I get approved for access?

The approval process has six steps. First, create an account with a valid email address. Second, verify your email through the confirmation link we send. Third, review and accept all active legal documents, including the Terms of Service, Medical Disclaimer, and Privacy Policy. Fourth, complete the onboarding details in the access gate. Fifth, submit your access request for manual admin review. Sixth, once approved, the full catalog unlocks and you can browse, search, and purchase. Requests may be approved, rejected, or placed on a review cooldown depending on the information provided.

What are research-grade peptides?

Research-grade peptides are synthetic compounds manufactured to high purity standards for use in laboratory and analytical research. They are produced under controlled conditions and are intended solely for in-vitro experimentation, assay development, and scientific study. Research-grade compounds are not manufactured under Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) for pharmaceutical products and are not approved for clinical, therapeutic, or personal use. The Peptide Clinic supplies these materials exclusively for legitimate research contexts.

How should research peptides be stored?

Research-grade peptides require proper cold-chain storage to maintain stability and purity. Most peptides should be stored at -20°C or below in a freezer, protected from light and moisture. Lyophilised (freeze-dried) peptides are more stable than reconstituted solutions. Once reconstituted, peptides should be aliquoted to avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles and used within the timeframe specified for the particular compound. Members are responsible for ensuring correct storage conditions upon receipt and throughout their research use. Specific storage requirements are noted on each product listing.

Which payment methods are supported?

Checkout uses Paystack, a PCI-DSS-compliant payment gateway widely used in South Africa. Paystack handles all card processing securely off-platform, meaning The Peptide Clinic does not store, process, or have access to your card details. Supported payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, and other methods available through Paystack in South Africa. Payment is collected in South African Rand (ZAR) at the time of order placement.

How are shipping quotes calculated?

Shipping quotes are generated in real time at checkout using Courier Guy door-to-door (D2D) rates when enabled. The system requests live rates based on your delivery address, caches the cheapest available service briefly, and then applies the platform shipping minimum and a processing fee. All shipments are restricted to South Africa — no international delivery is offered. Orders are packed with appropriate cold-chain packaging where required to maintain product integrity during transit.

How long does delivery take?

Delivery timeframes depend on your location within South Africa and the courier service selected at checkout. Most urban deliveries arrive within two to four business days after dispatch. Rural or remote areas may take longer. Once your order is shipped, you will receive tracking information including a waybill reference number that you can use to monitor delivery progress in real time through the Orders section of your account.

Can I save products for later?

Yes. Every approved account includes a default wish list where you can save products for future reference. You can also create additional custom lists to organise products by research project, compound category, or any grouping that suits your workflow. Lists are accessible from your account menu and persist across sessions. This feature is available exclusively to approved members with catalog access.

Where can I track my orders?

Order tracking is available in the Account menu under Orders. Each order displays its current status — pending, packing, shipped, delivered, refunded, or cancelled — along with live tracking events and waybill references from the courier. You can view the full history of status changes for each order, including timestamps for each stage. If you have questions about a specific order, contact support with your order reference number.

What regulatory framework applies to research peptides in South Africa?

The Peptide Clinic operates exclusively under South African law. Research-grade compounds supplied for laboratory and analytical research fall outside the SAHPRA (South African Health Products Regulatory Authority) registration pathway for therapeutic products. These materials are not medicines, scheduled substances for therapeutic use, or pharmaceutical products. The platform complies with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act) for all personal data processing. Members accept the Terms of Service and Medical Disclaimer before access is granted.

What is your returns and refund policy?

Returns and refunds are governed by Section 9 of the Terms of Service. Due to the nature of research-grade compounds and cold-chain requirements, returns are accepted only in specific circumstances such as damaged or incorrect shipments. Refund requests must be submitted with supporting evidence within the timeframe specified in the Terms. The Consumer Protection Act cooling-off provisions do not apply to perishable or temperature-sensitive goods. Contact support with your order reference and details of the issue for assessment.

Is my personal data protected?

Yes. The Peptide Clinic processes personal data in compliance with POPIA (Protection of Personal Information Act). Our Privacy Policy details what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights as a data subject, including the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information. Authentication is handled through Supabase with secure session management. Payment data is processed by Paystack and is never stored on our platform. All members accept the Privacy Policy before access is granted.

Do you offer international shipping?

No. All supply is restricted to South Africa. The Peptide Clinic does not offer international shipping and does not accept orders for delivery outside South African borders. This restriction is a deliberate operating decision aligned with our regulatory and legal framework under South African law.

How do I contact support?

For account, order, or general support queries, you can reach us via email at support@thepeptide.clinic or through the WhatsApp button available on every page of the site. When contacting support about an order, please include your order reference number for faster resolution. Support is available during South African business hours.

What happens if my access request is rejected?

If your access request is rejected during admin review, you will be notified with a review note explaining the decision where applicable. Depending on the reason for rejection, you may be able to submit a new request after addressing the issues raised. Some rejections include a review cooldown period before a new request can be submitted. The access gate exists to maintain the integrity of the platform and ensure compounds reach only qualified, identified researchers.
